I have really surprised myself and yesterday completed week 5 run 3. However today I have had a minor surgical procedure and have 3 stitches in my lower leg. Now I am wondering where to start off again as I will have to have a break of at least a week. Advice gratefully received.

stitches in leg
Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, sorry about the 3 stitches in your leg, if you are off running for less than 3 weeks you can continue with run 1 of week 6, however, seek advice from your doctor first when you can start running again, I just hope that you can get back to running soon.
A super run to have done, heal well and what Al says about fitness and running
Hi AmItooOld. I hope that your leg will heal quite soon and obviously you cannot run while you’ve still got stitches in place. Do they need to be taken out or are they dissolvable ? I only ask this because maybe if you have to have them removed by a medic or nurse then it might be an idea to enquire just exactly when you can continue with your running and just how far you can go. Also how about while you’ve got some healing time ahead of you ,take a look at the previous weeks you’ve already accomplished and maybe choose a week that is not going to be too painful for your leg and will not be too much effort just until you get back to a more comfortable running routine.
Hope this helps a little bit. Good luck👍😀😀
You probably won't need to repeat anything when you start again, but if you do, I'd suggest doing Week 5 again.
But do check with the medical staff what they advise. It all depends on how deep the incision was, what it affected, and how well it's knitting together.
I had 3 stitches in my lower leg, removed by nurse at my gp surgery, and was told not to run until they were removed
Well done you, and you have all the great advice... just get the go ahead and take it gently! x
Great advice received here - honestly, these kind folk are a fount of knowledge! Take it easy, rest and recover and then happy running WHEN YOU LEG IS READY! 🤣
