Here is Heston pleased as punch we have started week 8.

And I must admit be being a very contrary Mary ( no offence Mary’s!!) over the last couple of weeks re C25k.

Having done the programme previously I was looking forward to the smooth longer runs - and getting away from the stop start of the earlier weeks.

When they rolled around I was pleased.

But week seven I have NOT enjoyed you.

I was either too hot , tired , wanted to run outside when I was in and inside when I was out . Wanted desperately to run and none running days but procrastinated wildly on running days , Thirsty , fed up - downright CONTRARY.

I remembered things get better after five minutes and to be fair I don’t think it was the legs that caused the problem it was the 🧠 .

like many in here before me I scolded myself - and it has been pure determination not to give up that has got us here.

once I have done five mins I am waiting to see if things settle, after ten I don’t want to quit and by half way- well your almost done aren’t you?!

I came to say I was kind of dodging week 8 starting ,as I hoped this didn’t continue.

I am please to report after the first five mins , the music was right and I finished with a big smile on my face 😊 and so did the fluffy pup- hair cut Thursday for him!

Week 8 whoop whoop !!

Xx

He would be ready to go SAR! He’s a real run bully- outside is his favourite place to be ❤️

I didn’t have a great time with week 7 either-I think I’d got tired and needed to catch up with myself. Week 8 was better because I think psychologically, you’re thinking that you’re nearly there which gives you a little boost.

Great run and a great running companion. He’s gorgeous 😍😍😍

He is my absolute favourite ❤️

I am sure it is all in my head. And while I look forward to completing my goal. It’s bittersweet as previously I missed the structure of the programme when it’s finished (I know there are plans for continuing and hopeful I will get into one of those later.)

I was also pleased to see the consolidation group thread. And Look forward to that xx

hi that’s worrying me too x pre covid I could manage between 7 and 8 k so yesterday afternoon I decided I wanted to sun for 10K and downloaded the zen labs app that has all 4 progs c25k, 10K, half Mara and full Mara ! Not sure I’ll get to the end but I must NOT be negative - on 10th July this year ( b4 run no.1) I never thought I’d get this far frankly! It is £14.49 every 3 months and has some great playlists. I shall jump across in due course xxx

I think you’re amazing getting prepared in advance . And I think we do forget what amazing progress has been made. That first run seemed impossible initially. Keeping the negativity at bay is deffo key 🧠. I shall follow your example and have a look at apps to continue on with - for when I am reassessing my goal xx

Ah thank you - it’s a bit of a flaw in me tbh my job involves being very very organised and proactive rather than reactive and it’s spilled over into personal life!

Nothing wrong with being organised. I think I am a bit superstitious- I dont want to tempt fate and not get to the end of this . But you are right all it is is forward planning . I will still be taking one day at a time x

An easy run, is always easy...but the ones that feel a tad harder... well.. they are special ... and show how strong you are becoming!

Huge well done to you ... and Heston!
