Week 9 Run 2 - Treadmill and weight update

It has been 5 weeks since my last confession, oops, sorry, wrong forum :D

This post is a couple of days post run, I meant to post it on the same day but life got in the way.

I'd not run for 5 weeks due to, well, life getting in the way. I'd been wanting to get out and go for a run but a mix of work and other things meant most of my time was being taken up and I was way too tired to do anything but the time I'd done.

I wanted to run outside again but with not running for 5 weeks I decided to jump on the treadmill, I considered dropping back to week 5 and doing 20 minutes but I decided to do W9R2 and see how it went, I even acknowledged to myself that it would be ok to stop if I found it too much.

Once the warm up walk finished I set off at a very slow pace and just focused on my breathing and before long Laura was telling me 5 minutes had gone by.

Laura was then telling me that I was doing so well and that I was coming up to half way, on I went, focusing on my breathing, nothing else mattered, just plod on and control my breating.

I finished the 30 minutes and during the cool down walk decided I was going to do ONE 100% effort uphill sprint for as long as I could do it for.

I hit 9 on the incline and played with the wheel to get it to go to the 15 max incline and then , hit 12kph, probably not the fasted I could run but didn't want to go flying off of the end of the treadmill.

I managed to hold this for just over 2 minutes before my HR maxed out (Garmin zone 5+), once I'd done I hit stop and jumped onto the platforms at the side of the belt.

It felt sooo good to joffle on, I'll be glad when this project ends and life returns to normal.

Weight update, very interesting times really. What started as the Keto style diet changed to the Keto diet, the Keto diet has, if anything, started morphing into the Carnivore diet.

I'm still eating a snack, a main meal and a post dinner snack consuming around 1500 calories per day.

In January (16th) I weighed in at 359.1lbs, this morning I weighed in at 276.8lbs - I'm using my Garmin scales ONLY so there is no difference between scales, etc, I do have another scale and they weigh me slightly lighter hence the use of one set only.

In just over 6 months I've lost over 82lbs, that's 5.8 stone or 37.4kg!

There have been other benefits too, I used to have psoriasis on both my elbows that used to crack, shed white flakes everywhere and bleed from time to time, that's GONE 100%, not a single bit it left.

My head is clearer, that started when I was on the Keto diet and a 'down day' occurs a lot less than they did before.

Is the diet right for everyone, I have no idea, I've done quite a bit of research into both the Keto and Carnivore diets and I'm happy to do it but I recommend people do that for themselves and even speak to their doctor prior to starting either.

Plans moving forward, continue the diet, finish C25K and then restart it again outside, continue walking more, the gym and start swimming more.

Week 9 Run 3 will, hopefully be tomorrow morning.
