My third outdoor run, based on W5R2, it's sunny and quite warm already this morning on the east coast but there was a slight breeze coming in off of the sea, thankfully. The C25K app was a real pile of steaming do-do this morning as it kept crashing.
The 2 8 minute joffling segments may be 8 minutes each, they may not be but I added another 2 minutes to the end just to make sure I did the time.
I played with my pace a little today, I know, focus on being able to regulate my pace first BUT, I wanted to see what difference it made if I tried to go at 5mph (8kph) as opposed to 4.4 (7).
I found it surprisingly easy to maintain for a while but I did drop back to around 4.4 for around half the time.
Not fast, I know but that's what I'm using at the minute.
Not sure whether the next run will be W5R3 or maybe the 2 10 minute run from week 6.
I'm leaning towards the 20 minute run of week 5 then that would leave me a couple of 25 minutes, then a couple of 28 minutes and then I'd be back on week 9 and close to graduating again BUT this time I'd gain the graduation for running outside, I've not done that one yet.
Happy running everyone.

It sounds like you’re making great progress with your transition to outside. I really admire the way you’ve approached it thoughtfully and methodically. It’s a pain when tech doesn’t work. Hopefully it will behave itself better next time.
Sadly there’s no option to upgrade your graduate badge for a bigger one when you finish your outdoor transition programme. I think you still need some sort of reward for yourself though!
Thank you, the aim is to transition smoothly and, more importantly safely. With regards to the graduation, it's more of a personal target/achievement, each little checkpoints reached make for a successful journey.
I don't feel under any pressure this time around, I'm more relaxed and enjoying it more.
