I had got up to and completed Run 2 Week 5 on Friday last and for one reason or another have not managed to get out since - not injured, just life. I probably won't be able to get back out until early part of next so won't have run for just over a week. Where do people suggest I pick up from, please? I have differing information from fitness friends around me. Many thanks

Return to where?
If it’s only been a week, you can just continue with where you were. If you’d rather not go straight to the twenty minute run, you could repeat week 5 run 2 but I’m sure you’ll be pleasantly surprised that you won’t have lost fitness over a short break like that.
Oh wow, thank you
I would agree with MissUnderstanding .You could probably just carry on .
You are not likely to loose much if any fitness in the first couple of weeks !
Just take it nice and easy and I bet you will be fine . 😁👍
Aaah thank you. I will let you know how I get on. Using this time not running to try and increase my hydration and get my body used to it. I'm not a big drinker naturally and can honestly say I don't think I have ever felt thirsty even as a child. I like to run on an empty empty tummy so hydration has become important. Thank you for all the info on here - much appreciated
How are you getting on now?
Hi there Gthants, ah you are doing and have done so well and graduated! Well Done! I'd got to Week 7 alongside you I think then I got the biggest blisters I had ever seen from my walking boots, blisters on blisters, on a two day walk with the combination of sand and then wet socks, so I had not run since the beginning of June-ish.
Last week I put myself back to Week 4 probably a bit harsh but I know Week 5 and 6 are quite important in the whole stamina thing. I will do it and am determined to graduate.
What was your motivation, what did you want from it? I want to run 3 times a week for 30mins and then build on that. I first did Couch25k in the initial lockdown, graduated and then really became obsessed with not being able to do 5k in 30mins. I beat myself up a lot. I was doing it on an average of about 35mins which when I researched for my age wasn't bad going. Not being so hard on myself this time. How are you feeling with it all? Hope you are having fun and it's not a chore to run. I walk a little bit taller on days I've run and strangely eat a bit healthier too 😂
I lost three years to long Covid. I'm 61 but used to be fit (not running fit, but work all day, long walks fit). Then a slipped disc - twice in a year. Then rotator cuff injury. Suddenly I was old. I could not walk for 10 minutes anymore. Saw a physio about why injuries and he asked what my aim was and I said: to be as fit as I was pre-Covid ... and on the spur of th emoment, I said to be able to run 1k by the end of the summer (this was in Feb/March). A while later he mentioned this programme. I thought I'll start it tomorrow. But that never, ever comes. So I went home, downloaded the app and went out immediately. Nince weeks later I graduated.
I don't enjoy many of the runs as they take so much out of me. I'm much, much fitter, but the Covid effects still linger. Friday I ran for 30 minutes, but it wiped me out.
Things will improve with running and I'm figuring out ways to get more out of it and to integrate it into my life, but as of now I cannot run on days when I have to go out and work, or when I have too much work at home. After next weekend work will be easier and I hope to be able to start to have more (or some!) fun with it.
It is vital for my health and I am so much better than I was at Christmas. At that time I was sinking and could barely cross the road. Now I'm just tired all the time! 🤣
