I'm just about to start week 4 and loving it so far, I've not lost any weight yet but hoping that and body changes will come in the coming weeks 🙏🏼
week 4: I'm just about to start week 4 and... - Couch to 5K
week 4
Congratulations and welcome! Three weeks done is something to be very proud of. It’s never to early to celebrate what you’ve achieved.
Couch to 5k is brilliant in many ways but weight loss isn’t really one of them. The runs aren’t long enough to burn all that many calories. Where it is really good is that I find it helps me feel much more motivated to make positive changes to my diet which is what will make the main difference on the scales. It also helps me to feel much more positive about my body because I’m focussed on the great things it can do rather than whether I’m carrying more pounds or wobble than I feel I should. Again, that helps me make better choices with what I’m eating.
There’s a weight loss support forum on Health Unlocked that’s popular with people wishing to lose weight. I’m sure many of our posters are over there too!
Hi Menopausalrunner , well done on your progress so far.
I have to agree with MissUnderstanding - C25K in itself is unlikely to result in weight loss. The good news, though, is that you're likely to tone up, as well as feeling fitter and more positive about your body.
Happy running!
You might not lose weight but by the end you will have toned up
yes, agree with the other comments. I have lost weight, but not a lot and I only started losing weight after about a month of the programme.
I’ve lost about a stone (just completed the 9 weeks) but that’s been combined with slowly changing my eating habits. I’ve notice more toning on my stomach than weight loss so it feels like I’ve lost more, the scales just don’t agree!
I'm on a weight loss journey as well, although i haven't lost a lot of weight (would like to lose a stone) i do feel and look a bit slimmer, but only since i have been running longer in the later weeks of the programme. I have lost some and my body is changing, especially my legs as i do a lot of strength and core training, which includes full squats, one leg squats, forward lunges, backward lunges, side lunges, glute raises etc. Also I do now look at what i eat and this running has made me change my diet and eating habits, so that plays a major part in helping with the weight loss, diet and exercise combined
