Finally got round to my W4R1 4 days after the end of W3. I found the extra days did me no harm (even though I thought it would) and finishing the run I felt good. I made the mistake of listening to an ad filled radio station rather than my upbeat music thinking a few Xmas tunes would be fun- never again! My struggle was keeping going through terrible adverts - and hearing just 2 tunes in 30 minutes of airplay. I think I channeled my annoyance into keeping going. Running playlist back in place for W4R2

What radio station was that Chuckes3 which had nothing but ads while you ran run 1 of week 4?, well done on that run, if you want Christmas Music while running from the radio try Classic FM, Magic Radio Christmas or Heart Christmas, onwards and upwards for run 2 of week 4 with your running playlist or a radio station with Christmas Music, not the one you heard while running run 1.
Rest days do work well for me too. I'm 8 months on from starting C25K and have always had to resist the temptation to sneek in extra runs. But the mentors can point to many respectable guides that explain the science and importance of rest days. And as you progress and extend your runs through C25K you should respect the concept that rest days are contributing as much to your fitness as the running. Most importantly they help prevent injury. The theory says stick to them for the first year.
