I'm not gonna be able to run for a good few weeks as I have broken my big toe. It is painful but bearable but I am sure running is out of the question for a while.
Feeling a bit sad about it. π

Not gd news
Oh dear sorry to hear that JulueByf. No rushing back until you're ready. Keep yourself in the loop here by reading all the lovely posts and make yourself a mind of information π
Oh no, that is bad news! π’
I know how that feels, itβs a common Judo injury with beginners at one pint when I was younger I had both big toes broken, itβs quite painful and takes months to heal. At the moment I feel a bit of pain in my left big toe that comes and goes. Personally I just push through it but I know itβs painful.
Ouch! Two big toes, that must have been awkward. I have a massive blister on top of my broken toe that is more painful than the break at the moment.
Iβve just come back from the fracture clinic after breaking two fingers when I fell putting a cover on my caravan for the winter!
I was surprised when they told me not to run until the fingers have healed as aerobic exercise apparently increases the risk of inflammation to an injury and can make swelling worse. I was very surprised to hear this, and like you, am disappointed at the prospect of losing fitness and having to virtually start again. Good luck with your recovery.
Sorry to hear of your injury and that you can't run either. That sounds weird that you shouldn't run because of a finger injury, but we must bow to their expertise. I hope your not in too much pain and heal quickly.
Oh no, how frustrating for you, grrr!
Take it from someone who's had covid stop play 3 times this year (after avoiding it for 2 years too)...being off due to illness or injury though very annoying at least teaches you that you can bounce back.
The hard part is having the patience to take it easy & not push too hard.
The good part is it's easier the 2nd time around, probably as you now have the confidence to know you can do it.
Hope your toe heals quickly so you can start out with some walks in the near future π€π
You have my absolute sympathy, I'm sat here nursing a sprained ankle after running down a pothole (will look where I'm going in future) and worrying about how much of my hard-earned fitness I'm losing whilst sat on my backside. After several weeks off due to covid and hot weather, it took a couple of months to get back to where I was, but at least I know I can. Experience is a great teacher! Have you got a bike? I'm thinking about starting back with cycling once the pain has subsided, until the ankle is strong enough for running. Just wondering if there is something else you can do that will not put pressure on the toe?
I am doing upper body exercises daily to help keep a little bit of fitness and also the momentum of exercising. Sorry about your ankle it's a real pain and I really get hot weather putting you off running as it does me too. It's over a week since my mishap now and the broken toe is getting a bit easier already. However what is really causing me problems is the massive blister all around my toe which is dressed and large. No chance of getting any footwear on at all and the blister is very tingy and painful. The new year will be full of running resolutions.
A large piece of concrete landed on my toe, I think it's the body's way of trying to protect itself. The blister grew slowly over 3 days after the accident.
