Trying again...

I'm trying this again, after a gap of *mumble, mumble* years. This time I'm planning to a) complete the whole programme, b) be proud of myself doing it and c) keep the changes I've made going. So this evening marks the beginning of the new try - week 1 starts here.

It may not be easy but I'm really looking forward to giving it a go and even taking the decision to do it feels good. I'll post again after as I think to start with it'll help keep me to my own accountability. Also to share aches and groans of course... 🙄

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on making a great decision to start c25k. Whatever you did last time is great experience you can draw on this time so you’re already further ahead than you were. There’s great support here, and many people who have done the c25k more than once so you’re in great company.

There’s a brilliant little guide to the programme here with lots of helpful hints and tips.  Well worth a read.  Most important is keeping it slow and steady at a pace where you can talk in full sentences without gasping.  Most of us go too fast!

Really good luck for tonight. I got soaked on my run today. Hope you either avoid the showers or feel like a hero for being out in the rain. 🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♀️

Thank you for the support and reporting back as promised :) Well thats week 1 run 1 done although definitely more of walk 1 today. More fitness needed! Still I feel absolutely great for doing it and am looking forward to run 2 in a couple of days.

I am intrigued how the muscles will feel in the morning though any aches will be of (a very quiet) pride!

Sounds like you’ve made a brilliant start. Well done! Stretching before and after every run will help your muscles fight the aches and pains. If you do get achey, you might find taking an extra rest day or two helpful. There’s no rush to finish. You’ll find as you get fitter and your body gets more used to running, those aches will most likely get better.

Enjoy the well earned rest day(s) and good luck with run 2 of the week. 🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♀️
