Privileges of running

As I set out this morning to do Run8:2 after missing my run on Wed & Friday due to “life” I realised afresh what a privilege it is to be a runner. My 5min walk kicking through beautiful Autumn leaves 🍁 waiting for Jo’s call to start running..the anticipation & joy of just being out there, of feeling fit …. the run begins..I am now on the sea front … there are 6 ladies in swimming in 12.4 deg C & that makes me delighted to be a runner.. I pass & smile at an elderly man walking his dog…he smiles back… I take the challenge of running up & down the steeper entrances & exits to the promenade…good for strengthening my legs… now I am on the lonelier stretch away from the early walkers.. time to think … to plan….before I know it I am back to walking up the hill & home with another run in the bag.

It’s good to have you back and running again Annieapple and I’m sure you’ll zip through C25K again! Having not run since August, I may be joining you on another crack at C25K although as ever I’ll be behind you! Good luck with the last couple of weeks!

I recognize these feelings, especially when I have had a break. Somehow, nature also puts things into perspective. I have run sometimes just to clear my head and come to a more ‘peaceful’ place within myself. Keep running and enjoying them 😊

I do agree with you that running is a privilege and you enjoy it, those 6 ladies who were swimming in the water at 12.4 deg enjoy swimming the way you and I enjoy running, I certainly wouldn't dip my feet in that water, let alone swim, well done on getting to run 2 of week 8, only 4 more runs to go until you graduate, good luck for your graduation run.
