I cannot believe it that I now have an injury on my foot, I suspect plantar fasciitis. I am so close to graduating, about to start week 9 and now this happens. It's made me feel so frustrated! Any tips to help it get better would be gratefully received. I am putting ice on it, gentle stretches and pain relief. Hope it goes soon!
So frustrated!: I cannot believe it that I now... - Couch to 5K

Urgh, I sympathise with the frustration. There seem to be quite a few of us who are either on the injury couch or just coming off it, so you're not alone! I have a different problem, but the physio has recommended insoles designed for plantar fasciitis to take the pressure off my fallen arches, so that could be an option worth investigating? They take some getting used to though!
That sounds utterly miserable. So sorry it’s happened just now. I’ve never had it but friends that have say it’s rotten. My best friend’s improved with special insoles. Definitely worth investigating.
Sending good wishes for a speedy recovery and those runs will still be there for you when you’re ready, ❤️
Patience.... it is the only way! Instructor57 has given you the tips!
So unfair, take care of the foot first and the runs will still be there for you. Sending you wishes for a speedy recovery.
Wishing you a speedy recovery. So frustrating, but the C25K programme will wait for you.... 🙃
Hello I had this both feet at different times took me 6 months to get over it I then did the cto5k again and been fine since I found this strap like a sock that you wore in bed to stretch the foot from Amazon it really helped me also keep calves lose
Hopefully it will mend soon 🦶
The one thing that saved me from my PF ( god it was so painful I would cry) are insoles from Superdrug - Around £12 ‘Superdrug full length orthotic insoles - I remove the insoles from everyday shoes or size up for converse/vans. Hope they help x
Oh no. Poor you, but please believe it when I say I sympathize with you. I'm another one to add to that injury couch. I was on second consolidation run when my back went.
Try and stay positive. The forum will help.
Take care 🙂
From what I've read, it appears that PF is a "too much too soon" injury.
Long term, the best thing is to build up the muscles that naturally support the foot's structures. In the short term, insoles may give relief by taking the load off the fascia.
Hi I have suffered with this too on & off. I have found not going barefoot around the house really beneficial. Sounds weird I know but instead I wear a thick soled supportive pair of flip flops (from Clark’s) this has made a massive difference.
Hope you feel better soon & are back in your running shoes in no time x
It is very frustrating yes & I sympathise, have you considered some Arch Support Thongs. By the reviews this brand is considered to help sufferers of Plantar Fasciitis Slappas Thongs Australia. They are also available on Amazon USA if you aren't on this sode of the globe
