Hello, I am new to this group and joined because I am about to do wk5 run3. I have been so nervous since Friday after competing wk5 run2 and taking a sneak peak at this next one. Running 20mins is really scaring me. Anyone got any advice before i go to do it. Thank you.

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

There is no need to be fearful of any part of C25k........it is a training plan, not the Spanish Inquisition!!!!

This FAQ Post about W5 was written to allay your fears healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Relax and enjoy it.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5....

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

Thank you for this. I am off to the gym soon to do it so will report on my progress when I get back 🤦‍♀️. When you look that previous weeks have been a little more running just with little walk breaks then it makes sense that C25k says you are ready.

Hi! Don't be nervous, you can definitely do it. The key is to run slow. And prepare yourself for a massive high when you achieve it - it really is the best feeling, my favourite run so far without a doubt! 🙂

Hi,I actually find the longer runs are easier than when it mixes it up again and adds shorter intervals back in.

The first half I find boring but finding new routes really helps and I pick somewhere with a mix of grass and path.

But as other comments say, it’s for your enjoyment and personal challenge so if you need to break or run a shorter time then do that and add an extra minute on next time.

It is suprising how quickly the progression comes on though and it’s a good program and trust it, because you can do it😊

My main concern is around injuries so stretching and strength building each day for a few mins and before and after the longer runs has helped me

Thank you all for your encouragement it has really helped as doing this C25k on my own so it really helped. I can now confirm I have DONE it and at the same pace I have been running previously. I now know not to be nervous or worry as it was a lot easier than I thought. Thank you all again 😃

Congratulations.

Watch out for W6R1 though........it catches out more people than any other run in the programme. Just stay nice and slow.

Well done !

You will be smiling all day now 😬

Take your time with w6r1 as it catches people out with going back to intervals
