Parkrun disappointment

So disappointed I had to pull out of Parkrun this morning with cramp/injury . I was doing really well too. I couldn't decide whether it was cramp or not while running but couldn't stretch it out and it was just getting worse, so had to stop. Got home and put ice on it but it is still sore. Oh well first injury throughout all of C25k so haven't done too badly. Just hope it heals quickly.

Muscle cramps: If you're experiencing cramps or spasms in your legs or calves, this could be due to dehydration, poor stretching, inadequate carbohydrate intake or simply going too hard, too soon in a run.

Thank you. I think I have pulled something as it is still sore. I don't very often suffer from cramp but time will tell.

Disappointing for you, but give it a little rest and some time off, and you will be back smashing that parkrun before you know it! 🙂

Thank you and hopefully it won't take too long.

Rest, ice, and walk on it gently. Perhaps using a roller may help, too.

It is starting to ease a little and I am thinking now that it may indeed have been a bad cramp. Time will tell. I am resting it. Thank you.

You did the right thing in stopping.

Had you warmed up fully?

We're you pushing harder than normal?

Were you fully hydrated?

The only thing I can think of that I mustn't have been fully hydrated because everything else was just as normal. Today I really think it has been bad cramp which is very unusual for me, but hey ho a few days rest and back to it.
