Running after calf strain

So I pulled my calf last Monday joining in with a fun run at the school where I work - my own fault for not warming up properly and wrong shoes! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Very painful for a few days but followed all the advice and it’s felt fine since about Thursday. Just not sure whether it would be completely foolish to try a gentle run today or whether I need to rest it for longer? Any advice much appreciated

Rest is nearly always healing, so don't rush it.If it is pain free then gentle stretching may help.

If you do you try a run then just do a few minutes and build up over time.

. Don't just attempt to get back to where you were in a couple of runs.

You have emphasized the importance of good warm up and don't forget post run static stretching and adequate hydration.

Once you have an injury you are likely to have a susceptibility to it repeating, so take care.

If it doesn't improve, a physio is your best port of call.

Take care.
