A break in the programme

I ran Week 8 run 1 but have been in holiday where there had been no opportunity to run. Do I run Week 8 run 2 or go back a few weeks if so to which week?

You are not likely to loose much fitness in the first 2 weeks .After that it would be gradual.

I had 16 days off with injury after week 8 run 1 and was then able to carry on with run 2 .

I did take it very slowly.

All you can do is go out and see what you can comfortably do , then pick up from there

I would just try it slowly but be ready to stop and walk if you need to. I had a week off around week 7 and picking up was absolutely fine. There’s no rush though and if you’d be more confident going back to a shorter run, that could be a good decision too. Have a few options in your head before you go. I would check in with how you’re feeling at regular intervals and make the final decision once you’re out there.

I would try W8R2 but take it very easy.

If it's too hard, then maybe fall back to Week 4 and see how you go from there.

Hi Many thanks for all the advice. I ran the Week 8 Run 2 this morning. The weather was warm. I ran gently and had no problem running the full 28 minutes. I feel confident that I will be able to run Run 3 on Friday.
