Had a month’s gap between Week 8 run 3 and todays run of Week 9 run 1. I found it quite hard and I didn’t run as fast or as far as I usually do - but I managed to keep running for the full 30 mins so quite happy with that! 2 more runs to go! Happy Monday everyone! 😊

Well done!Remember distance and pace are irrelevant!

This is purely a time based program.

Well done.

You might have been better off doing an assessment run first. C25k is a training plan, not a tick box exercise.

As stated in the guide to the plan, you lose no significant condition in the first two weeks of non running. After that loss of condition is gradual.

All any of us can do after a lay off is to go out for a gentle run and see what we can comfortably manage, then use C25k or something similar to rebuild stamina and resistance to injury.

Pushing too hard after a layoff is a route to injury.

Take care.

At what point did it start to feel hard?

You will have gone backwards a little after a month of no running.

It felt difficult initially and there was a bit of a strong wind, but after about 5 - 10 minutes I got into a bit of a rhythm and it felt more comfortable

OK. That sounds like the Toxic Ten at the start. That's quite normal.

You should be able to complete the programme if you just keep things steady. No going for 5km, promise? 🤣

Well done. You did well running for 30 minutes after a month’s gap of no running. Nearly there!

Ah thank you!! 😊

One month off and you still ran 30 mins that’s a great achievement well done, we are both at the same level.

Wow! Well done! This is the first time I have commented but I have read and learnt a lot on the forum. I completed Week 8 Run 3 today and I am expecting to try first run in Week 9 on Friday. I hope I do as well as you have today 🤞

Ahh thank you. If you’ve just finished week 8 I’m sure you’ll be absolutely fine. Even though I hadn’t run for a while and I did find it tricky, I didn’t notice the difference between the 28 min run and the 30 min one… I’m sure you’ll do great! 👍
