Well, last week I was well enough after a brush with covid to go running (ok, a week 5-ish run-walk)
That was last week. This week I've been back on the sofa, no energy. I've made it to the supermarket once, and I've walked to the the field at the end of the road the other day when the sun was out. Then back on the sofa. So I might be quieter than usual for a while, until I feel ready to run again. What a sneaky little virus it is!

I am just behind you grumps. Yesterday was my first day out post virus, but so far all I have done is take Molly for her morning walk and breakfast at the cafe. She is very happy 😊. I feel as though I could go for a short trot; I will see how I feel in the morning. Well done for getting out there but remaining sensible. 👍
Glad you're getting to the cafe BC. Hopefully you'll have a smoother recovery. It seems quite common to get better then worse a couple of times so it didn't take me by surprise, and I didn't try to push through. Hope you feel up to a little trot, but not the end of the world if it has to wait a bit longer.
I posted the same link a few weeks ago, and it's true, I've still not got back to running 3 x a week since I had covid again I January. I have decided to not give myself a hard time 🙃
Just talked to a friend who also took ages to get back to running - although she had a nastier form of covid, the recovery stories are getting very familiar😶
I had it first in April 2020, I was knocked off my feet then but oddly enough once I started running again I got up to 3 x weekly (albeit slowly) straight away. I'm not sure what's going on this time, unless I've just learned that I don't have to be so hard on myself...
I caught one of the big name flus that was going round in November 2008. It flattened me for a whole month. I only went out for groceries. Viruses are nasty.
Take care of yourself. You can stuff running under one of the sofa cushions for a little while.
Covid is a real nasty, family who’ve had it have taken about 3 weeks before energy levels return to anything like normal so don’t rush anything and rest loads, we’ll see you running soon now
Please take it steady and don't be too hard on yourself. I had a relatively mild dose of Covid and within a few weeks thought I had recovered.
How wrong I was. I battled and fought with myself for being out of breath when trying to run. I know now it was the after effects of the virus so please look after yourself and recover in your own good time. Dont get frustrated 👍.
Recovery times will differ person to person. For me, even though I felt ok my fitness and running ability took about 4 weeks to get back to pre covid levels.
yourcovidrecovery.nhs.uk There are lots of tips on this NHS website which you might find useful, it was sent to me by my GP. Take it slowly and good luck with your recovery.
Hello not grumpy, Queen of Patience and Perseverance, Here's to your energy levels returning soon. The listen to your body mantra that one of physios repeated so often, clearly applicable in all sorts of situation. Perhaps you are able to wonder down your garden and enjoy lots of plants growing well. I hope that honey fungus didn't reappear.Get fully well soon. 💐
I'm afraid the honey fungus is a permanent feature, I'm learning what plants are more likely to survive and avoiding the vulnerable ones. I've recently acquired half an allotment which is fungus free🥳
I think I'll try and be like the honey fungus - lie low until I'm well enough to take on the world again 🫅I like my new title, thank you!🫅😁
