I ran as fast as I can comfortably and able to have a conversation. I didn’t pause at all & ran up all the little hills; I nearly made 4K, but not quite. Gosh only 30 metres short. Nevertheless I am pleased 😄.
Maybe on my finalé, next time!

Maybe my post has come across wrong , I wasn’t ‘running as fast as I can as in not being able to talk or hardly breathe.I was running as fast as I can at a pace I could have a conversation.
All it was, is that at the end, I noticed I’d nearly run 4K (only 30 m short!) & I noticed how my pace is increasing.
I just looked back at my runs, initially my pace was 10+/K , then I was managing some 9+/K , I then did some at 8+/K & today I noted my pace started with 7, so I was very pleased at the progress by doing this program.
I am naturally running faster (by looking at the above paces) but am not trying to!
I then (tongue in cheek!) wrote maybe I’d do 4K on my finalé.
Fantastic hells_bells2207, brilliant & well done!! 👍👍 I am sure you will get the 4km next time, even though this does not really matter. It sounds like you have done really well with your natural pace, just by progressing through the last few weeks.
Best of luck with the final steps of C25K and then onwards and upwards.
Thank you so very much. Yes, my natural pace has increased with running further each week & without me trying.
I agree the 4K is not really important, it’s just that I noticed how close I was; 30 meters!
I’ve looked back at all of recorders runs & my pace at the very beginning was 10+/K! It just shows what practise can do & by following the program. Take care.
Yes, I pushed for the 5km in 30 minutes thing. I ignored a niggle in my ankle, had to skirt round a muddy puddle, and sprained that ankle on both sides. I finished the run, got the intended time, then walked home.
Three days later it was painful. A week later I could barely walk on it. A month and two physio appointments later I started from scratch. The physio didn't even want me to do anything as stressful as week 1 of C25K!
I wish I'd recorded my pace all the way through. I just started yesterday on my first run of week 9, which doesn't give me much contrast 😂
4km (nearly!) is brilliant. I'm looking for ways to speed up a little -- once I finish and consolidate -- and since I've been running to Outkast's Hey Ya! at 80bpm, I've been gathering a playlist of 90bpm songs. Really looking forward to trying it out and seeing if it helps.
Not just your final run hells_bells2207 but the beginning of a brand new adventure and start of a fantastic routine good luck for that final run, enjoy it 👍
