After a long lay off since November due to a virus, then glute pain around the hip and a very scary, significant birthday, yesterday saw me out in the sunshine, and cold wind with 2 friends. I didn't plunge in for a straight 5k, but cautiously walked 5mins and ran 5mins repeatedly . I thought 30mins would probably be enough, but it started to feel fine and so I continued until a tad over 5k. Wow, what a high after to know I'm still 'good to go'; moving, good company and the outdoors reminded me what I've been missing.
I also find I have a bonus of no undue aches and pains today post run!
