Now, how did that happen?

Well I started this program a few weeks ago & I was doing fine.

On my last run I completed W3R3.

I then could not go for a run for a few days (for legitimate reasons!) , but these few days have turned into 12 days. The latter & majority of these days did not have a reason I couldn’t go, merely an excuse. One day rolled into the next.

I then find myself feeling a failure & asking why I let this happen.

So as of today, I’m going back out there.

I am going to repeat W3R1 & I’ll then see how I feel. If need be I’ll repeat all of W3, if I feel able I’ll move onto W4 sooner.

I really don’t want this happening again.

And in a ‘Strictly’ voice, Keep Running 🏃‍♀️!

As stated in the guide to the plan, you lose no significant condition in the first two weeks of non running. After that loss of condition is gradual.

All any of us can do after a lay off is to go out for a gentle run and see what we can comfortably manage, then use C25k or something similar to rebuild stamina and resistance to injury.

If you keep posting here, we will keep you running.

Have fun.

Thank you I went out & repeated W3R1.

I was comfortable with this & so incredibly pleased I went out !

I am thinking it may be wise to do W3R2 then W3R3 for my next two runs & then continue on as per the plan.

Always safer to err on the side of caution and it certainly won't do any harm.

Thats the spirit, it's not a race and you dont want to hurt yourself, repeating a week can help to confirm that that you are ready to move on to the next level/week. Making it part of your routine is really helpful and makes it easier to get back into it again if you have a break for any reason. I run early morning before work. it works for me, but everyone is different, but I find the routine really works;

Well done on getting back out there hells_bells. Sometimes these things happen. Sometimes life just gets in the way or we have to do battle with those pesky gremlins.

You have shown great strength to win that battle so really well done 👏 👏👏

Well done for beating this demon. It is not always easy, but if you can, set aside 3 fixed times each week when you will be doing your c25k. Then, it stops being a question of, "shall I go out today? " and starts becoming "I am running today the other thing will have to wait. ". You will complete C25K and get plenty of support on this forum.

Well done you!! You got out there and did it. I agree with those who said repeat until you are comfortable moving on - that was best for little, old, unfit me. The program is a guide and pressing on regardless each week does not suit everyone and some of us need to take a bit, well, a lot longer!!! Enjoy your journey and 'keeeeeep running!' 👍🤗🤗🤗🏃‍♀️💃.

Good on you for shaking off those sofa-gripping gremlins and getting back out there! Keep posting regularly - I find posting and reading about other folks' journeys keep me going. Good luck!

It's a difficult time of year to get motivated (I know). Well done for getting back out there 👏👏👏

This happened to me last year - I got to Run 5 week 1, had to miss a couple of days and then just kept making excuses. I started again from W1R1 last week and am back on the horse again!

I'm looking out at Cold, grey and wet. Not very inviting. Come 16:15 I'll say, to myself, "you're 62. How many runs do you have left in you"? That usually gets me out the door. (The hard bit).
