Now that I’m running longer without much discomfort I thought it Would be nice to start tracking my speed. I used the Strava app today to track my speed and distance. I think I’m slow for now but I know I’d improve with time. For now I’m just focusing on completing the runs.
Week 7 Run 1: Now that I’m running longer... - Couch to 5K
Week 7 Run 1
Well done, keep going.
Just bear in mind that running at an easy conversational pace is the most effective pace at which to develop your aerobic base, which, in time, you can employ for pushing further and faster. Being faster at this stage is not better, so relax, enjoy it and don't compare your pace with any body else................ except that former you that got off the couch.
You are doing great.
Sounds good to me !Just keep doing what you are doing, it's the best way to progress 😁👍
I love those segment names. No surrender!
Did you know you can make up your own segments in Strava and give them names? - even with the free version! Then you can become the “Local Legend” of the segment before anyone else finds it. 😁
It’s good looking back over your record too, later in the journey. It’s easy to forget how far we’ve come. I even kept a running journal too 😆. I then passed it on to a uni student who was writing his dissertation on C25k.
Lots of fun this running hobby.
Well done, Cheetah girl.
It's nice to track your speed, but you're right to treat it lightly. My fastest mile is still from week 2 or 3 when I was running too hard - completely unsustainable. I also like to look at where other people run and ride on strava to get ideas of where I could go.
I love searching on the app depending on the week I’m on and this could be my stats - they were identical! Am doing week 7 run 1 tonight! I see you have now graduated - congratulations!!
