I like it! You’re still out there part of the action and community while you recover!!! Excellent idea and way to stay motivated! Heal up soon!

Well done Baddie, parkrun doesn’t work without its volunteers, and it’s far less exhausting than running. I was on finishing tokens this morning too.

Great to catch up after so long. Just felt I didn’t deserve breakfast coz I hadn’t run.

Until it gets cold and then volunteers deserve the hot drink and cake as much as the runners!

True

Oh yes you did. You stopped 160 people from falling in the river. That deserves a breakfast

I love this picture! I can just feel the thundering of the footsteps and the anticipation of everyone appearing! You definitely deserved that breakfast Baddie!

If you do a Google search for parkrun events UK, you can then zoom in on the map on the area you want. When you've zoomed enough the event name will appear. You can then click on it and you'll be taken to the info page for that run.

That’s great. Sign up and download a barcode before you go. You’ll need it to log your participation and time. parkrun.org.uk/

As already said, without volunteers like you Parkrun would not exist. I’ve just completed my 25th time as volunteer which entitles me to a free T-shirt. 👍Occasionally, I have a geriatric jog (over 50 5k runs so far) but I was grateful for the C25K to keep me fit during the pandemic when there was no Parkrun.

Well done. I’m hoping to earn a t-shirt eventually. I love the purple ones.

Glad you volunteer, I find volunteering for my local parkrun very therapeutic especially at the moment as I am still unable to run due to issues with my hip. I wish everyone would take the time to volunteer, as I am now one of our team of Run Directors. I hope you are back to to running soon.

I’m aiming for a purple t-shirt 👍 The Marple lot are very polite and shout ‘thank you marshall’ on the way past. It’s a courtesy I take with me when I run at other Parkruns. The marshalls at the Parkrun I last visited looked really surprised.

I hope you achieve your 25 and continue enjoying the parkrun community for a long time after. I love my purple shirt, I have reached 40 volunteer credits and 36 runs (though walking is my current speed). Even if I never get back to running, I will not give up parkrun, it has given me regular exercise and friendships which mean the world to me. I love the camaraderie and community and I find myself wanting that for everyone, I am always bigging up the benefits of C25K and parkrun for both mental and physical health.

I agree, and it’s great to be back again after lockdown.
