Hello dear C25K community, hope you've all been well despite everything that we've all been through since I last posted here. It was definitely pre-Covid when I last attempted this program and I can't remember how far I got, but it wasn't much beyond Week 4 or 5. This time around I'm feeling pretty excited and rapt to be back on the treadmill. Run 1 was easy, Run 2 was bloody hard and Run 3 felt great. Being careful not to get ahead of myself and skip rest days. I'm 57 so my legs need time to recover! Lovely to be back, hope you're all enjoying wherever you happen to be in your running journeys. If you don't mind I'll check in regularly to keep myself accountable! Week 2 Run 1 tomorrow! Laura and your good selves will get me all the way through this time, I'm certain
Week One done ... again!: Hello dear C25K... - Couch to 5K
Week One done ... again!
Hello, and welcome back to the forum and the program. It's probably worth having another read through the program guide

Remember to take all runs slowly, and stay hydrated .
Enjoy the journey !
Thank you ... I will. Can you please also point me in the direction of the recommended stretches?
Sure!Pre run Dynamic excercises.

And post run stretches .

I would suggest holding the after run stretches for around 30 seconds !
Beware not to mix these excercises up !
The Dynamics are pre run and the static are after run .
You do not want to do static stretches before running !
Welcome back JoeyCoops! Enjoy C25K again - at least you know what you’ve let yourself in for! And post all you want to - you know how much we all like to know what everyone else is doing!
Well done you for trying again ! This was my second attempt I’m also the glorious 57 and I am now up to 10k as of Friday. I would say good shoes and always do the warmups and cool downs with a bit of strength training in between and you will get there!! Happy running it’s the best thing 🎉🏃♀️
Wowzers 10km? I can only dream .... but I know if I follow the program and don't get off track, I'll get there too eventually. Yes, 57 is pretty glorious ain't it!! I first started this 2 years ago and bought new (expensive) runners especially but they've become my daily shoe of choice since then so I might be due a new pair methinks. When you say warm ups and cool downs do you mean the 5 minute walks or stretching? Thanks heaps for the encouragement it really means a lot!
Yes definitely the 5 mins but also stretching before and knee strengthening exercises that are on here somewhere ! I also love a bit of Adrienne FWFG yoga she does a pre and post run yoga session it seems a lot to fit in but as golden girls have to look after our bodies 🤣
Fantastic JoeyCoops …well done for starting all over again!! We’ve all been through so much haven’t we but hopefully things are getting back to some sort of normality, whatever that is?!! We don’t mind regular updates from you at all!!! We love to hear about how everyone’s getting on 😊
