Morning everyone, I have just completed wk8 and was wondering if most runners include the 5 mins at the start and end in their run. Can't believe I have come this far in a few weeks.

the aim of the programme is to run for 30 minutes by week 9 so the warm up and cool down were extra, but we included it in distance

Are you asking whether you should do the warmup and cool down walks? The answer is a resounding yes. They are both important.
Whether you include them in your timing is entirely up to you. If you want to know your total workout distance covered, record it all. If you just want to know what you covered while running, just record the running.

I didn't measure any time or distance until after completing C25K as I knew I'd end up worrying about the stats. When I did start measuring I didn't count the warm-up and cool-down walks, only the time and distance run. The walks are, however, essential in C25K.
