Dodging the downpours!! 🦆🌧🌦

I set my alarm for 6.30 last night but then woke up every couple of hours throughout the night again and listened to the rain and DJ ally got up at 5.50. I had had a headache all day yesterday and still had it when I woke but I had a couple of squirts of Sudafed spray this morning and an anti histamine and by the time I had run it had cleared.

I had a couple of false starts… opening the door as the heavens opened and going back in again but at 7.00 it seemed to have cleared for a while so off I went… Week 2!!!! Pleasantly surprised that it didn’t seem much harder than last week and of course only 6 runs not 8 this week. I mustn’t have lost as much fitness as I’d thought.

I headed down towards the river but then turned and ran back towards Newport and Tock Park thinking I might see my daughter, who was starting from her house at about the same time and running the reverse route. Turns out she went under the underpass whereas I went round and over the road so we missed each other. And I got back home just as the next shower started.

Nothing very eventful apart from a wet foot where I couldn’t avoid the wide puddles and I did my stretches when I got home and then enjoyed my breakfast before showering. Unfortunately I always find I am full of energy and want to garden or cook or walk when I’ve done my morning run. And the weather is so sh**e that I will be stuck indoors mainly so I might be forced to relax and do nothing instead ( something I find really difficult to do)

One thing I did chuckle at was the name of one of the segments I ran today. Bet there’s a story behind that!!

Funny how you were trying to dodge the rain and I am hoping for rain on my next run. As I think it would be cooler in the rain and less people out to watch me run , trying to hold a conversation with myself 😀 It must be lovely to run by the water.

Yeah this wasnt gentle rain though,I quite like that but this was bouncing up to about knee height rain!!!

I love to run by the river and there are several ways I can run around here… on both sides and in both directions

Sadly, Lucozade isn't that useful as a drink for energy any more, with the manufacturers deciding to reduce its sugar content to avoid the tax. This has consequences. For instance, it's no longer recommended that diabetics carry some around with them.

I never liked it anyway, sickly stuff🤢, and I am presuming somebody stashed theirs once and came through in the way back and it has gone 😜
