Hi, I'm Claire, 41 and can not run to save my life, I've now done 2 runs (on my treadmill) don't know if this is alright or not but having 2 small children I'm unable to go out and can only run in the evening once they are both in bed asleep. I get half way through and really struggle but have managed to complete 2 runs which I am so proud of as I seriously struggle with running....well any kind of exercise. And although I'm not overweight, I'm certainly not fit and this is something I want to change. I hope I can complete this,I really have the positive mind set....just my tired, unfit body that's letting me down so far. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Well done for getting started. Don’t worry about the treadmill part, because you are still running and if it works for you and your family then just go for it.
Likewise if you keep up with the C25K plan you will notice your fitness level improve quite quickly as your body gets use to regular exercise. It takes a few weeks but trust me it really does happen. I was 50 when I started the plan, having never run before, and those week one runs of 60 seconds each killed, fast forward to 20 months later and I routinely run between 15-20km a week and feel a lot fitter and healthier for it. Good luck with the plan.
Hi Claire. If you have the positive mind set I think you’re half way there as this is also a mental as well as physical challenge. Find the pace that works for you, it’s not all about the distance, and build on it gradually. You will get there, I’m a lot older than you and was overweight with dodgy ankles and a balsa wood back and I’ve just finished week 6. It’s not easy but nor is it impossible and the support on here is great and many of us started out with the same doubts as you.
You can do this. 👍
Hi claire. I hadn't run since school(I'm 46). I go out for some but like you I also do a few st home it's doing something that counts good luck xx
Well done and welcome to the forum! Hopefully you will have read all the blurb and realised that you can slow down. It’s meant to be a slow jog. I set off far too quickly on my first run, which I realised after posting on here. This programme is magic! It works on your endurance by the time you are on your feet, not by your speed. As long as you are making the movement of running, you can’t run too slowly - I am proof of that! Speed can come later - if you want it to. Good luck as you go through the programme and become fitter with each run 👍🏃♀️
