Ran W8R2 this morning and did a PB. I was thinking about headphones but decided I prefer running without them. It was warm and humid but nevertheless I enjoyed the run, now looking forward to Friday’s run.

I prefer no headphones as well. I do have to listen out for cars on my country lanes.

I have too many roads and side roads to cross, headphones would not be appropriate if I want to reach 72 next year!!

Bone conducting headphones don't go in, or on, your ears meaning you can have the best of both worlds, you can still hear traffic or other people but you can have music or podcast too.

I used to rely heavily on my music. Now I'm 80-90% no music but sometimes on really long, or really boring runs I need a little bit of music to get me through 👍🏻

I hear people listen to podcasts, and even the Archers! In fact there must be so many things you can listen to other than music. Though if I run for over an hour I might think about buying headphones, but I am used to running without music now.

I'm out for usually 3+ hours. Did 7 last Weds 👍🏻🤣 it's definitely something to consider on long days

I just treated myself to some bone conducting headphones. Marvellous! Would have been even better if I’d charged them. Instead I had my music blaring out of my tinny phone speakers like an antisocial teenager. Luckily I didn’t meet anyone 😂

I thought if having music blaring out of my iPhone as I don’t have headphones, but it would be drowned out by road traffic. 🙁

Where I live the noisiest thing is birdsong. I did part of the run with no music and really enjoyed it, then my phone speaker decided to switch itself on so I had the best of both worlds.

Another vote for bone conducting headphones - I'm allergic or sensitive to whatever they put on the earpieces for normal "in the ear" headphones so I tried these, I <3 them.

I'm a single parent (to children old enough to stay by themselves - youngest 15), but when I run it's nice to be able to take their calls if there's an emergency (like the burning question of where I put the biscuits I bought on Saturday, or where the spare toilet paper is - answer where it always is...)

I also have music and they are waterproof so they can get wet on a run and I don't worry about them getting sweaty.

Not what you're looking for?
