Post covid jab run

Had my 2nd Astra Zeneca covid jab yesterday and apart from a slight headache felt pretty good . However , thought it best to go for only a 20 min light run this morning . Well what a lousy experience . Couldn't get my breathing going at all , legs just couldn't get coordinated , battled through but felt pretty grim afterwards . Everybody reacts differently I suppose but a cautionary tale .

Oh I hope mine isn’t like that. It might’ve just been one of those runs though despite the jab. Make sure you’re hydrating plenty the day before running.

I’ll see how my day off goes tomorrow. Slept most of the afternoon today something I never do so body is not happy at the moment. I’m sure all will be good in a few days

Hopefully, next run out will be better. I ran yesterday morning, 3 days after my second AZ jab and despite having felt fine up until then, most of the run was hard work! No idea if it was the jab, the heat or the fact I was running a lot earlier than usual (before breakfast) but I am hoping my next run will also be better! 🤞Good luck!🙂

We’re all different I suppose but it’s my first real setback since I graduated. Back on the horse on Friday

I had very few side affects from the second vaccine but ran slower and noticed later that my heart rate was raised for a few days and was tireder You will bounce back soon

Yes I was puffing like a train 4 days after my 2nd jab. Still glad I had it though.

Had my second AZ 10 days ago, felt absolutely fine but slept more heavily than usual. I ran on jab day before my appointment then left it 3 days. I just wanted to give my immune system the best chance to do its stuff. It’s good to have it all done and dusted.

Getting the 2nd one is the main thing. The running will no doubt sort itself out

After my 1st one I was shattered, felt like napping after work which isn't like me...gave myself a good few days off before starting back.

The 1st couple of runs felt tiring and I noticed my heart rate was around 10/15 beats higher than usual. I guess if it takes a couple of weeks to build up some antibodies there's stuff going on in our bodies that we don't know about.

I'll know to be patient after my 2nd jab, may still run but at least I'll expect it to be rubbish 😉

After I had my first AZ vax the nurse actually said take it easy for 24- 48 hours. Dont do anything strenuous as it can exacerbate symptoms.

I’m hoping to do a run tomorrow after my second AZ jab on Friday. I felt really good for the first 24 hours or so but started to feel quite lousy this afternoon. I’ll see how it goes and if needs be I can always stop and head back home.
