Morning all,
Slowly recovering from Covid. Started c25k all over again, having finished in December, with a week 1 run. Now got a dodgy knee. Need to do some daily exercise though. Any tips please? Thanks. Joe

A knee injury is one of the most common ailments with running and there are lots of different causes. This page will give you lots of information on treatment and practical running tips on how to minimise or mitigate your risks. healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
I found this really helpful as I currently have a niggle around my kneecap and I don't want to make it worse but it is so hard because I want to run! Good luck
Definitely the recommended knee exercises will help! I never read any of this before doing the C25k but have learnt so much and improved so much since reading this after and putting in to practice. So it’s sure to help good luck
Good luck, Paddymatt. Joint problems can be part of long covid so it may be worth giving the gp a call? You’ve done this once so you’ll smash it again when the time is right 😊
Thank you Dellie100. I had no idea it could be linked to Covid. Looking forward to smashing it again!
Similar happened to me. I started running again, post covid, thinking it would help my recovery. I got pain in my ankle a couple of days later and I knew I hadn’t injured it as I had taken it easy on the runs. Doc sent me for an X-ray to check it wasn’t related to clots - which it wasn’t, thankfully- but they think it was an arthritic flare up triggered by covid 🤷♀️ One day it just went away and back to running I went and it’s not bothered me since.
Hello Paddymatt, I found these knee strengthening exercises useful: nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/k...
All the best!
Hi Paddymatt, From experience after covid I would recommend taking things very slowly and listening very attentively to your body. I had Covid 19 back in March 2020. Started C2 5K again from week 2 in mid May. I was surprised how much of a challenge it was as I had been exercising regularly pre covid. I kept pushing myself through the programme even though after an initial buzz I would later that day or next day feel dreadful with what I later discovered is post exertion malaise. Turns out I had long Covid and still do. I am now not able to do more than short walks. So don't push to hard post covid or you could end up like me.
