Hi everyone, hope you’re all enjoying that special feeling on the Friday night of a long weekend (with humble apologies to those of you working)!

I’ve just come in from a really enjoyable w9r2 and my toes are curling with excitement at the thought of graduation on Sunday all being well. The funny thing is, I repeated this run because when I ran it on Sunday I got to about 22 minutes and gave up. No real logic to it - breathing was good, I wasn’t feeling the strain, my heart wasn’t in it.

Anyone else get days like that? Do you have any tips for beating it? The only factor I can think of is that my music stopped about 5 minutes in. We have an Alexa that’s signed in to Spotify under my account and I think my daughter must have switched it on while I was out listening via my phone.

Anyway, happy bank holiday weekend everyone!

Pity about the music stopping but well done on almost completing C25K, only one more run until you graduate, good luck for your graduation run, yes, sometimes runners get that feeling they don't want to run or stop running before the distance that they planned to run, I am sure that won't happen to you on your graduation run.

Thank you - I’ll happily repeat as many times as I need but quietly confident it’ll go well!

Thank you - a great read. I am a quality manager so completely agree with your view of cause and effect. There’s always a reason even if it’s not immediately obvious what it is

Best of luck with your graduation run, remember everyone on here is behind you ( not literally as that would be weird and very difficult to organise) . Remember to celebrate and don’t let anyone dull your achievement. Look forward to reading your graduation post.

Sorry no tips from me as I’m a beginning but I think you did fantastic running for 22 minutes and don’t give up!

It will be so worth it!

Yes I really get those moments when it just feels “off”. For me, it’s when I feeling annoyed with my kids - the run feels so heavy although nothing is different in reality. Sometimes I just mark it for myself “annoyed with the boys” or “hating the music” and sometimes that helps me continue . I hope your final run is a pleasure and sending you all the best for it

Thank you 😊. I don’t know what ages your boys are but it does get easier. Oh and then harder when the hormones kick in. And then it gets easier again when they turn into fully formed people! Hang on in there from a mum of three of my best friends

Hi I’m at exactly the same stage as you as I did week 9 run 2 yesterday!I normally don’t run weekends so my graduation run should be on Monday. Tempted to do it tomorrow but superstitious if I step out of the routine that has got me this far without injuries or setbacks it’ll go wrong. So it’s Monday for me. Good luck for your final run whenever it happens. We’ve come a long way haven’t we ?

Oh you’re so disciplined to wait for Monday!I still see the “real runners” in the park and feel like a bluffer but you’re right, we have come such a long way from those first tentative steps.

I’ve read here before that week 1 is the hardest and I think it’s true.

I look forward to seeing you post on Monday. Enjoy ☺️

Oh I know that feeling when the music stops. It made me realise how important it is when it happened to me! I should have been doing w9r2 today, but the weather is amazingly bad, and I had a shift as a bar maid /waitress yesterday where I clocked up 7 miles!! Can't wait for that graduation glow!! Xxx
