So - just over 3 months ago I was coerced into starting the couch to 5k app by a well meaning friend. And what a wonderful friend she is........I'm so pleased she did that. Daunted I started off with a few weeks of brisk walking first before starting the programme and I struggled to get through just 60 seconds with my 9 month long covid breathing issues. I honestly didn't think I could do this but each week I committed to at least trying and on a couple of occasions i did repeat a run. And today I can finally say I've graduated 🎓 I'm still very slow 🐌 and steady but I'm running 30mins and I've lost over a stone in weight and most pleasing I can actually breath properly after most of last year struggling to breath just walking up a small incline. I honestly think everyone should be doing this. The physical and mental benefits speak for themselves but the sense of massive accomplishment after each run is such a motivating force.
Though today for the very first time i managed to pull a muscle in my thigh. Typical!!! The run went just fine but as soon as I stopped and started walking it hurt. Did several minutes stretches and a good 15min walk back home.
I'm looking forward to my new running career. I've set myself up on strava and plan on building on my progress to improve my pace and technique over time. I'm not quite ready to say goodbye to Sarah milican so will continue with week 9 for abit longer I think.
Thankyou to everyone in this forum for such great advice, support and encouragement.

Well done sarahlou43 give that muscle time to repair before pushing it through another run please, those stretches will definitely help 👍,
Hey of you'd like that shiny badge drop a message to the admins on the medal page and they'll be along with it
Huge well down Sarahlou - that’s a fantastic achievement, especially on top of COVID! It’s a good idea to do some consolidation runs - I did mine with my coach too but found after a few weeks that I felt confident enough to go it alone - and I’m sure you will too! After that the world’s your oyster - don’t forget to take a look at what’s on offer over on the Bridge! But do look after that thigh, the last thing you need is to get this far and then find yourself stuck on the Injury Couch!
Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 9 and graduating from C25K, well done, you now have the magic word GRADUATE 🎓 next to your username, now go and celebrate your wonderful achievement 🏃🏾 👍 🎓
