The differance from road to grass too machine is quiet wide .and a beach run really tests you even on firm sand .but people usually run in the environment that there happy in not the surface .go with that and if the weather's crap do a different exercise .buy a slam ball from Aldi on line there great as a substitute on bad weather days
Well done but why not stick to the plan that has worked for millions.
If you continue to post exceeding the plan then I will continue to point out that it is unwise and unnecessarily increasing your injury risk, in an effort to deter those who might be tempted to emulate you.
Take care. Injury could stop you in your tracks for days, weeks or even months.
Thank u , I do plan on sticking what the program what u day makes so much sense , i hadnt planed on running last night, I had a chappy 11hrs shift at work then came home to an argument with my husband ,i ran this at 1am this morning to try an calm down an make myself feels better , I think I've proved to myself I can do it ! I need to slow down now a follow the plan more closely x
I have been sticking to the program except for 2 of the runs ive listen to everyone an planning only running the times it says ,I think I've just got a head of myself an just need to rein myself in a bit , thats why I luv this forum full of support an most importantly experience and knowledge My ankles are OK i think my bodys just protesting to the increased activity ,I am havin rest days all the way tro the program ive stuck to that
I'm speaking from experience here. I got overly enthusiastic in the final weeks of C25K and got two ankle sprains and a shin splint as my graduation reward. Walking was painful for about three weeks.
And they started as a slight soreness in the ankles that I ignored until it was too late.
Your enthusiasm is great Crazyrocheter , and I can sympathise with where you're coming from, as I've got carried away myself at times.
However, it seems it's happening to you more often than not. So please do try to calm your running down a bit. Adding on more time (that extra 9 minutes was actually a whopping 36% more than you were supposed to do!), going too fast and running too frequently are all really good ways to get yourself injured. Several of your posts mention niggles, and it would be such a shame for you to have to take an enforced break.
Its so hard to judge ,i wonder if I'm actually tryin hard enough! :/ , most of my runs I feel like I still have more to giv! I kick myself that I've not push hard enough durning the run so try better next time , I said now I hav proven to myself I can do it ,I will defo be sticking to just what the program says! I really would hate to get injured an not graduate bcuz id been stupid 😒 ,thank u for understanding
