I managed run 1 today and stuck all the way through. It started sunny and then switched between sun and snow 3 times before I finished. π Still haven't managed to do 3km yet but I'm just under and I'm actually enjoying the runs which is nice. Never thought I'd get this far with the program so I wanted to thank all of you on here who have taken the time to give advice and encouragement it has really helped.
I've made it to week 9: I managed run 1 today... - Couch to 5K
I've made it to week 9
Whoop. Same run As me today ! Whoop
Very pleased to hear that youβre enjoying your runs! Graduation is in sight! π€© well done!
You are on the home run now!!! Outstanding effort!!!
Thank you, how are the consolidation runs going? And did you join the bridge to 10k thing on here?
I joined the bridge to 10k thing, it has some useful info but less chat than this forum, I havenβt really settled into a plan yet, tried a few nrc runs but not really doing it for me yet, there is the magic plan but it looks too difficult right now π€£ I had a great run today but wont be doing that regularly, the 30 mins seems much easier to fit into my schedule,I was around 3k at week 9 too, hope you enjoyed the snow and it wasnt too slushy!!
It wasn't too bad, it more stung me as it was super cold on my face only made it a bit muddy towards the end but I managed π do you use Strava or anything to track your runs? Hope you find a good training plan for you soon π
I am using nike running app, have done since the first few weeks to measure the runs, because they have guided runs as well to move onto, felt a little lost without laura! I was also interested in what they call jeffing but I havent looked too much into it yet, I am just enjoying being out and about and taking the dog with me saves a walk later π
Ah well done! Your pace is fab compared to mine I want to work on that next as I'm actually enjoying it now π yeah I'm gonna miss having Sarah giving encouragement too might have to find something
My pace has only just started picking up last few runs and probably more to do with the dog pulling me than anything else π I had a fall today, skinned knees and elbows, was trying to listen to the nrc coach and take in my surroundings but actually I would have been better looking at the bumpy path in front of me π€£ have you done another run? Must be coming up to the big one soon? X
How are you getting along? X
Nice how did you find it over the 9 weeks was there some weeks that were harder than others
I'm going to be honest it's taken me longer than 9 weeks to do. I've done a few treadmill runs but bad weather stopped me a couple of times and towards the end a 2 day break between runs worked a bit better for me. When I first started I hated my running budding for the 60 second runs and on like the 4th one of them I wanted to stop and my legs felt like jelly, then again on week 2 the last couple of runs were difficult and then after that wasn't too bad. If I'm remembering rightly week 4 snuck up on me I think, the second 3 min run of 2x5min and 2x3min runs always was the hardest and I had to redo one of the runs on that because my back hurt.A lot of people dread week 5 run 3 as it seems like a huge jump but I managed it fine relatively. Week 6 can be tricky as you go back to shorter run intervals but remember to pace yourself.
Uh I feel like I've ranted slightly now if you want to ask anything else just reply or if this has been more than you wanted feel free to ignore it π
If nothing else please post on this forum with a question or just to say how you're doing everyone is lovely here and so many people have tips and tricks to help π
