I have been doing 5ks regularly and the odd 6.5/7k and decided that today I’d just see how the run felt and just have a go at 7.5k. Did that 500m extra and hey presto - first EVER 8k.
Very slow, very steady and I am very happy with my achievement. I probably won’t rush to do 8k again but it’s fabulous to know that I CAN do it if I want to.
Anyone else felt chuffed with their runs this weekend? That’s a rhetorical question because we should *ALL* be chuffed with our runs because any run is better than no run.
Happy Easter fellow runners 😊

I like running 8K's, I average 1 hour, my quickest 8K is 56 minutes, the slowest 64 minutes so that hour is long enough, however, I'll try over the next few weeks to get back again to running 10K.
Snap.Did my first 8K - very slowly - on Saturday. Hopefully repeating that next Saturday too, Seven months ago I thought 1 minute was long. In one month's time I hope to get to 10K. It's amazing what we can do with a bit of effort, a lot of belief and the C25K Plan. Oh, and of course, this forum.
Well done, you! And thanks for the encouragement. You’re absolutely right - every time I go out for a run I have the same thought - blimey, am I really doing this?! We should ALL be proud of all of our achievements.
