Further to the IMMENSE support I received from my post yesterday, whereby I tried and failed to achieve w4r1, my alarm once more went off at 6.30am to try again... but following getting up and into leggings etc, my body was having none of it and I realised I needed to accept defeat, as I just wasn’t feeling at all right. Fast forwards a few hours (and still with SassyF ’s motivational support in my brain, and the promise to check in today!)....and ignoring potential embarrassment, I put my leggings back on, and went to the (fairly busy!) park. Thoroughly determined not to give up, I DID IT!!!!!! I slowed down so much I noticed one guy kept turning and staring at me- probably wondering why I was barely moving but puffing away 🤣 - and even found that in the last minute of the last run, as soon as my breathing was sorted, I could actually keep going! WOW!!!!!! Although I’m not sure how this is even possible when running, but I had pins and needles in one foot for the last 5 minutes - not comfortable at all, and I’m sure I looked even stranger by half wiggling my foot to try and get rid of them...!
I must admit, it’s this forum and the unbelievable support from YOU ALL which is keeping me going. I’ve never been privy to such kindness and encouragement before; THANK YOU ALL!!!

Honestly, SassyF , I contribute the success of today entirely to you. The entire time I kept thinking ‘I need to tell SassyF I’ve done it’- so THANK YOU for your support and motivation!!
Oh stop it. All I did was give you a gentle kick up the backside. You did it - not me. But I’m happy to keep you accountable if it helps.
You chose to put your gear back on when you didn’t feel like it, you chose to go out to the field, you chose to run, and you chose to succeed. You made excellent choices today - even if the gremlins were still there you chose to shout louder than them... and look at what you did!
Never doubt what you can achieve. The choice is always yours.
Well done! Getting out there even when it's tough is the mental side of C25k and will stand you in good stead for the later runs which appear more daunting than they really are. But I think the feeling of satisfaction of completing the runs is even greater when you've had to work for it! I hope the feeling of achievement stays with you all day
Slushsteph excellent news I started on Saturday quite spirited really happy with the run ! Went out for run 2 on Monday but it was after work got a stitch and was slower than Saturday! The advice to slow down definitely works ❤️
Amazing work 445600 !!! I have slowed down SO MUCH that I’m half laughing at myself as I chug along! Well done on getting through it despite a stitch - that’s excellent!!
Well done! I did that run today and it is defo a big jump and a lot harder compared with week 3. My mind does wander when I’m out and I did actually think today that getting your kit on and out the door is really the most important and biggest steps to take. Even if we have to stop have a breather or walk a little when we’re out, so what?’ We’re out! Keep going you will do it!🏃♀️ Also I’d say pins and needles is defo shoes too tight. The longer we run the more blood flow and bigger feet so try slightly looser laces - the shoes won’t fall off
Well done you and Sassy F for motivating you. Your post made me chuckle as I have had Dog walkers keep turning round to see where I was and hadn’t overtaken them yet. Very polite round here as they usually stop and stand to one side. It’s great that you put the leggings back on and went out and busted it. Proves your mind over matter is on the right tracks. Ain’t it great how everyone in/on the forum is chuffed for you. Chuffed. Top Job. You did that.
