Yesterday I went and ran my first 5k as a 60 year old. I know age is just a number but I ran my last 5k as a 59 year old on 8 March the day before my big day and finished with a very sore calf so have held off going for that first run of my new decade. 12 days later I have run got it done just over 30 minutes a bit slower than I had got to but I guess should be expected. I had been relatively busy with work and other projects as well as the calf ache that I had not managed to fit any runs in. Watched my Strava friends fitting many runs in during that period but hey I do one or two a week. Just to keep fitness ticking over along with where possible the dog walking stroll. I got to use my new bone conduction headset, whilst these allow you to hear the surrounding noises I prefer to hear my music clearer and turn my head at junctions and look I guess in time I will get used to them as opposed to my wired together wireless headphones. I hope everyone is doing ok. If any one needs a chat just message. Stay safe and healthy this will be ending soon hopefully. One jab down here and one to go.

Well done, and belated happy birthday wishes to you. I had my first jab last Saturday, and although my arm is still sore it hasn’t stopped me running 🏃‍♀️ 🥳

Thanks it wasn’t the jab that stopped me but the fact I had an ache in the calf that felt like I had permanent cramp making it hard to walk let a lone run that and becoming extremely busy at work I felt it was best to rest it.

Yes part of the reason the rest but it worked no aches and hopefully will run in the week
