Week 5 ticked off!

I had nagging doubts about this run this morning when a very slight ache in one of my knees was still there. While promising myself that I’d stop if that mild ache got any worse I got myself ready for the run.

Having worked out a plan B of running two ten minutes with a walk between them if I found the full twenty minute run too hard.

I could have done without ‘Joe’ telling me when I’d only run five minutes as it had seemed longer. Then when half way bell went during an uphill which meant I only had another three of so minutes before the rest of the run would be down a slight incline I began to realise that running the full twenty minutes wasn’t going to be as hard as I thought it would be.

I was certainly having to slow myself down to regulate my breathing for over half of the run.

I didn't even notice the 'slight ache' that worried me earlier. All I had was a little calf pain towards the end. But the post run stretching exercises soon got rid of that.

But I did it……Looking forward to Week 6 on Monday.

Well done.

Stay nice and slow for W6R1.........it catches out more people than any other run in the programme.
