Hi all, my husband says I should go for walks too. Does having a rest day mean just from running? I've done run 3 of wk 5 today (20 mins jogging) and he thinks I should do a short walk later π€·ββοΈ. What do you think? Thanks!

Advice please
Absolutely go for a walk! 20 min run does give me 10,000 steps a day π
I've been walking all along... I just added the runs to it, so I do 8k at least on my off days. I don't push too hard though, but not strolling either. Is it recommended? I've no idea. Loads of people in retail do well over 10k at work and run, though.
Also well done!
I walk the days between runs just to get out and get some fresh air. Anything between 3 and 8 k but often just a stroll.
Absolutely, rest days is not a good name for them .
Think of them as non running days . π
yes, go out and walk.. good to keep those legs moving
Definitely do things on the non-run days. Cycling, walking, yoga, mountain climbing, morris dancing... anything that doesn't have the same impact as running.
Sadly us Morris dancers haven't danced since last March π’
I've been brisk walking 4.5 miles every day and just incorporated the C25K into it. On my non-run days I still do the 4.5 mile walk. I also do some core strengthening exercises (about 20 min) every afternoon. I'm sure the walking and the exercising went a long way in getting me to the end of week 9 this morning xx
Thanks everyone. I'll up the walking
Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.
As long as you do your warm up and cool down walks, there is absolutely no reason why you should or shouldn't do a walk as well. Keeping moving on rest days will help avoid aches and muscle stiffness.
