I laid in bed at 5am - listening to the wind howling outside, thinking maybe I had picked the wrong start day.
And then, I turned it on its head....
I figured if I can get up and get out today, in that wind, having not run for 3yrs; then I'll set myself on the right road for this. Remembering the words I was told at training centre - "we fight fires in all weathers, so we train in all weathers"...
So off I went, watching a muntjac deer run across the fields, the sunrise turning the clouds a multitude of colours and listening to Spotify - the wind only a problem when I was heading into it - a friend behind me. And that was that, W1/D1 done.
Showered and at my desk working by 715am - feeling like I'd achieved something.
