Completed my first “run” omg that first minute seemed to last forever but I completed it all..... Sarah Milligan got me through it. Feeling elated but looking forward to my rest day.

Congratulations on completing run 1 of week 1 of C25K, onwards and upwards run 2, you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish to, drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration, no running on consecutive days as that could cause a injury, good luck for your running journey with C25K. 😊 🏃🏾

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

I'm now on Week 8.

I did week 1 Run 1 three times before I felt I could this.

I repeated Week 4.

I made the mistake of taking a breather in the middle of Week 1 runs. I thought I had to stop for water and that I was too tired.

You need to follow the plan: trust the plan but more importantly: trust yourself.

I can now run 28 minutes non stop albeit very slowly.

On 9 September when I started, I would never had believed I'd have got this far so soon.

Enjoy yourself.

I found that first run was the worst for me. My legs ached and I thought it was laughable that I would finish c25k. I did though, thanks Jo Whiley, only 3.6km by the end but I think most people don’t manage 5k. The 3 most important things I found were the rest days 😂, going slowly and not stopping. Good luck. I feel loads better for it, both physically and mentally. It was a challenge and I succeeded.

Well done Mollyjazz700 👍

I'm on week 7 with Sarah as my coach, getting my first "Well done flower" has to be one of my highlights.

All the best with your C25K journey, listen to Sarah's advice and you'll be fine 😀

Well done! Just to warn you - Sarah lies! She once told me if I was struggling she was right there with me. I’m fairly sure she was on the sofa with a cup of tea. 🤣 She did get me through though as I loved the irony of that!! It never gets easy - each run is a challenge - but that’s what makes it so satisfying. It’s actually a miracle!! Go you!!

I remember thinking 1 minute was nothing until I had to do it. It went on forever and was exhausting. Each time does get easier, well mostly. Enjoy your running 🏃‍♀️
