I did it but it felt tough. A tiny bit slower overall than two days ago but a faster mile and a faster two miles in there Strava tells me. My “concern” is - why is my VO2max starting to fall, I would have expected improvement - it did for the first five weeks? That not be a running question 😊

Week 7 Run 3
You’ve only just started running. It’s far too early to think about VO2 max and pace! Just slow right down and get to the end of the programme. VO2 max fluctuates a lot. With longer runs, fatigue sets in and drops. Take it with a pinch of salt. Look at it over months, not days.
A drop in VO2max can be caused by overtraining, but is more likely a blip. The only readings that are significant are those that show a trend over time.Slowing down to the recommended easy conversational pace makes it more achievable and for most, more enjoyable and counterintuitively, will develop your body more effectively than pushing hard.
Say this sentence out loud to yourself "Am I going slow enough to enable me to speak this sentence in one out breath?" If you cannot, you are going too fast.
