Hi everyone!
This is my first post and hopefully it will help encourage others, as I have been encouraged by reading the posts on here.
I completed my first run of week 4 last night and am still in a state of disbelief! I actually ran for five minutes non-stop, twice! Three weeks ago I struggled with running for 60 seconds, last week 3 minutes felt like a mountain to climb, but this week was so much easier.
The advice on other posts is entirely correct - slow down and trust the program! It’s amazing how much stamina and endurance I’ve built up since starting (I’m 38, a big guy and smoked up until starting C25k.
To anyone thinking of giving up on running, or anyone feeling overwhelmed looking at the step-up in times, keep going! You can do it! Fingers crossed I can stay injury-free and motivated - would be over the moon if I can join the graduate club by the end of March 🤞🏻
