After sitting out the 3 snowy days here in London, I went out on Thursday to finish wk8- afwul. Dragged myself around a slow, sorry 3km. Was really fed up with myself.
Got up today looking forward to wk 9 and smashed an icy 5km PB for any length of run, in -2 degrees with a biting wind right up to the top of Alexandra Place hill, did a happy dance at the top! The temps are rapidly climbing this week, hoping to complete in something warmer.
Looking back over my progress am so pleased my stamina has obviously improved so very much for an overweight, 5ft, 57 yr old with stubby legs.
2 runs to go. Bring it on 🙌

Be careful. Don't overdo it too often. It's better to stick to the programme and build up to 5K gradually. Going too far too soon might lead to the injury couch. Doing it once is ok. Well done though. Sometimes those gremlins that used to tell you that you can't do things can transmogrify, thanks to the adrenaline coursing round your bloodstream, and they turn into sneaky cheerleaders that can make you do too much. Ally pally looks good but a bit hilly! I stick to the flat as much as possible still. I'm on the proper side of the Thames ie South London.
That's ok, I didn't make it clear- thanks for the care! I've done quite a few 4 and 5 kms so far, just notable the difference in these two runs in a few days. ..I've got a dodgy knee so go slow jog Nico Nico pace.
We used to live South London, yes it's very different up here!
