Hi I just done the first run on week 5, I’m very nervous about the 3rd run on this week 20mins straight. Did anyone else feel the same but got through it 🏃‍♀️

You can do it! I completed the run today, always so nervous when it comes to longer runs but it went really well! You’ll be surprised what you can do 😊 once you break the mental barrier of going longer than the 8 mins done in the last run, you actually forget about the time and realise it’s possible to keep going!! Good luck 🍀

You ask if anyone else feels nervous about run 3 of week 5, answer, we all do, however, after everyone runs it they feel very proud of themselves and so will you, take it slowly, you will be 🆗, good luck.

Each run prepares you for the next your body will be ready so no reason to worry, mind you the gremlins in your head look at this run and go eeek 😦 try not to listen to them and I think nearly everyone felt like you do but when done the buzz is magnificent

Just slow right down.

I think you will be bombarded with messages saying that everyone is anxious about W5R3. Just take is very slowly and make sure that you are well hydrated the day before. Oh, and warm up properly beforehand.

You’ve got the physical capacity because that’s what the programme has armed you with already / now you need the mental stamina to get the run done. I KNOW you can do it! Keep us posted. 😊

Week 5 was scary but from reading through this forum I think most people are surprised & chuffed when they do it at how they coped. All I can say is trust the program - it’s been building your fitness up so you’re ready for it. Just go slowly slowly and I’m sure you will be fine!

Everyone is daunted by this run and pretty much everyone does it! Take it slowly and then enjoy the amazing sense of achievement afterwards 😀👍.

I managed up to 17 mins but all the advice here told me to slow down and relax as I think I burnt out worrying and trying to go too fast. I felt great at 10 mins just tell yourself you are half way. ( you did 8 mins so you can get to that) x in a funny way it’s easier to keep going than the stop start buts - for me. Ice has stopped me now !

Yes. I was worried, but in the end I shouldn't have been....

If you've completed the program up to this point, you'll be absolutely fine PHYSICALLY.

The truth is exemplified by your question - folk (myself included!) doubt their own abilities, i.e. pretty much from here on in, the problems most folk have are MENTAL ones, specifically, self-doubt.

Go for it, don't clock watch, keep your pace moderate, relax your shoulders, breathe deep...

You'll be fine!

It’s a mental task this one, it’s all about the mindset, you 100% can do it!

Yes I was nervous. It's a mental challenge. My approach is to relax about whether I'm going to complete a run or not. Nobody cares. But whilst running, be honest and don't give up if you can keep going. The discomfort can be tolerated for longer. Take it 5 mins at a time. You'll do it. And even if it doesn't work the first time, you'll do it the next time. I've finished the c25k now. Working on getting faster. Good luck!

I didn’t manage the 3rd run and injured myself. It took many weeks repeating earlier weeks before I attempted it again. Remember if you feel any pain, slow down and walk then you can try again another time. It’s not worth injuring yourself because then you’re out the game altogether. I have finally completed week 7 but it took me a long time to get here. It’s your race so do it at your pace. Good luck xx

Hi ... don’t be nervous! I have just completed run 3 - didn’t even realise I had a 20 minute run today until I opened my phone up but decided to give it my best shot and was really surprised when I came to the end of it with some energy left to go on so just take it slowly and the time will pass quicker than you think. Good luck.
