Try not to get stressed. Running can wait. The runs are going nowhere. Temporary blip. Could do some strength exercises in the meantime? Core work? nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/s...
You will be running again in the not too distant future, so despair not.
As stated in the guide to the plan, healthunlocked.com/couchto5... you lose no significant condition in the first two weeks of non running.
After that loss of condition is gradual.
All any of us can do after a lay off is to go out and see what we can comfortably manage, then build back up gently, using C25k or something similar as a guide to weekly increase.
Frustrating isn't it when you just want to progress? I'm also out at the moment due to shins and my knee being problematic (the latter is an old problem but probably exacerbated by the running). I felt down about it because it seemed that everybody else was managing to progress through the programme at a good speed while I was taking a lot of time off. But there were some helpful replies that showed that others have also had problems and then gone on to be regular runners. When the pain has gone/easing, you may do well to do some strength exercises too. I'm waiting until I'm fixed to decide where to go back to, as lannodaTruffe says, it depends how long you're off for. And once your knee is ok for walking, perhaps getting out for a walk while you recover further would help your mental health? It's still fresh air and good exercise. Good luck!
Thank you , yes frustrating for sure , I’m a totally novice runner so suppose it’s just getting used to set backs, yes I’m a keen Walker and cyclist , but the buzz from running felt totally different , hope your recovering is going well
