I’ve lost my mojo 😢

I got to week 8 at Christmas, but then I was ill for a month and just couldn’t run. I then decided to go back to week 6 as I didn’t know how much fitness I had lost; I was really pleased as I managed to do 10 mins, walk 3 & then another 10 min run. That was 3 weeks ago. I don’t know what it is but I have completely lost my mojo ☹️

I work full time and have also been trying to home school which is extremely challenging; I am very stressed as I have very little time to do anything, let alone running, although this is probably an excuse! It doesn’t help that every day I feel ridiculously tired as I am not sleeping and I just have no energy.

I realise that I would probably sleep better & have more energy if I can get back into it, but like I say I am struggling.

Has anyone else been in this position, and have any pearls of wisdom to help me get my enthusiasm back?

Hi there. I’m just about the start week 7 so I’m in the zone, however I can just imagine that I could loose my mojo so can relate.

When I read you post I thought 2 things..

1. Try to remember what made you want to run, why did you start the C25k? If you can remember that, then it could nudge you in the right direction!

2. Try a new regime! How do you prepare and what do you run to? If it’s music then change to podcasts 👍 I’m currently listening to Louis Theroux Grounded and there are fantastic interviews to listen to!

I pop in a tic tac head out the door and loose myself for 30 mins.

You know you can run 5k now, so the challenge is to find the enjoyment ☺️X

Not in your position, but why not try just short runs of 10 minutes if you feel you don't have the time at this moment? Just try short runs to get our there for a moment. You can pick up the plan again once you feel better and have more time. 10 minutes are more than nothing and who knows that this way you'll get your mojo back? You can play around a bit with the ten minutes, do 10 minutes straight, do 1 min run 1 min walk, do some fartleks, some interval, ...

Good luck!

Sounds to me as though you're being unkind to yourself. You have a lot of stuff going on right now. In your position I'd wait until the schools open again. You're not a quitter by doing that. Just my thoughts. Good luck.

Hi, I think all the comments so far are good. For me, it sounds like you need a little time out for yourself.. Maybe the run will be what you need to lower the stress levels and give you time to think.

For me, when everything seems too much.. that little run time gives me the space I need. I know my family notices the difference.
