I’m really hoping the bad weather and snow won’t stop me from being able to do my runs! I’ve heard so many stories of people running when it’s icy and slippy . I can deal with most weather I think. I live by the sea and the wind coming off the North Sea is treacherous! Someone tell me it’ll be possible! X

The actual temperature by the sea is a little less cold than further inland but the constant wind makes it feel colder, for example rain at coast, snow inland, you can run in icy weather but must be very careful not to slip or fall.
It is not often in most of the UK for it to be windy when the temperature is below freezing, however, over the next week there could be sub zero temperatures and windy weather as well.
I ran on new fallen snow a couple of weeks ago - part road and part trail...but the following two days it was just too icy underfoot, so I would say be very careful!
I live right on the east coast too. Happy walking dogs in this weather as can wrap up really well but not sure how I'm going to feel running in it. Layer up and see how it goes I guess! If not I'll work on some of the other exercises that have been suggested. Good luck and let us know how you get on. If it's any help I've already see the odd runner this morning and it looks wild out there.
Suffolk. Crazy wind here today, the sort you can lean onto and it holds you up! Have walked a couple of times today but having been out I've decided to wait a day or so before I try and run in it. Good luck and hope you enjoy it.
I certainly won't be going out in this weather. It's blowing a hooley out there. If it's not a pleasure, it's not worth doing in my book. Don't go out in bad weather and be put off. Wait for a day or two and once the weather has changed you can enjoy your next run
I find its easy to be obsessed by the weather forecast. I was expecting the worst this morning with gales and snow - but it hasn't arrived (in Norfolk). So I went out and it was fine. Perhaps a little windy but certainly not too much. No snow here at all and it was much colder last weekend. Just sieze the moment and go out for a run. If the conditions are terrible you can always turn back.
I've been out running every day since January 3rd, the weather in the west of Scotland has been terrible, sub zero, snow, ice, slush, wind.I go out between 4 and 6am and it's always been ok.
