So ladies and gentlemen. How long does it take you to run 5k..surely we are all running at different speeds therefore running less or more distance. I am currently running 25 minutes but ni where near 5k. With the warm up and cool down it wad only 2.5 miles.. some peeps are possibly running over I suppose?

How far is a piece of string?
Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.
Only a small proportion of graduates from this forum who responded to a poll, managed 5k in 30 minutes by graduation healthunlocked.com/couchto5....
Graduation requirements are that you complete three thirty minute runs, regardless of distance.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
Enjoy your journey.
My last run I did 4,25 km in 40 minutes, so that means I would need about 47 minutes to run 5 km. Slow? Yes please 😄
The aim is to run for 30 minutes 3 times per week, the title c25k is a bit misleading but it doesn't mean thst you shouldn't aim for it.
If I remember correctly, my week 9 run 3 covered 3.9k in the 30 minutes. As previously stated the aim of the program is to get you running for 30 minutes without stopping/walking .
5k can come later , if thats what you want !
ok. I just measured the running bit(not the warm-up or cool down)and did 4 kish so I think I may be a little slow but on target for another few runs. on week 7 run 2 next.😆
I finished the course back in august. Probably took another couple of weeks before I was reaching 5k. I have ran a couple of sub 30mins 5ks but mainly takes around 32mins. Don’t worry about time. Just make sure you complete the course and can run for half an hour non stop. The 5k will follow.
5k takes me about 47 minutes- I just putter along gently. 😄 For me, enjoying my running is by far the most important thing, (and keeps me coming back to it again and again). So I run for pleasure & the many health benefits it brings - & view distance and speed as an interesting (or not!) byproduct. 😄
Of you look at the results in a busy parkrun you’ll see people who take 14-15 minutes and others who take over an hour. Took me a few months to get sub 30 after graduation. Some never do. Who cares. Only compare yourself to yourself.
My own experience is finding the truth in the old saying "Comparison is the Thief of joy" :)I'll never be a "Racer" - but very happily ended up a "Runner"
Tasha99 is so right. I’ve been running Park Run the last few weeks in Australia and it’s amazing to see the different types of runners. The elites of our park run loop back as I hit about km 2. I shot pass a lady last week who had run an ultra. I would rather be able to run an ultra now than run a fast park run. Just run for you ❤️🏃♀️
"How long does it take you to run 5k?" As long as it takes.
I have done it in just less than 30 minutes. Both times I did that sort of speed for 5km I had some sort of injury pop up a few days later.
I did do 8 km in 55 minutes on Saturday.
I have done 1km in 4'33". If I were to extrapolate that to 5km it would be 22'45", but if I did that distance at that speed I'd be on oxygen and hobbling round on crutches for weeks afterwards.
