Running Jacket

Hey guys! Can anybody point me in the right direction for a good running jacket, lightweight but also waterproof with a hood preferably ? Been looking online but no having much luck or they are really expensive. Has anybody got a good one they could recommend? Thank you 😊

Hi, I was looking for something similar and saw Mountain Warehouse do one that received some good reviews as a budget choice. They are Hi-Vis and depending on colour under £60 or under £40.

I bought one from Aldi a few months ago. It’s wind proof and waterproof and was £20. I’ll have a look on the website and post the link if I find it.

Aldi and Lidl do excellent value running gear but of course it is not always in stock.

I’ve just bought this on eBay...There were loads of new and second hand jackets on there for really reasonable prices.

Waterproofness isn't really critical with running clothing - you tend to either get wet from the rain outside or the "micro-climate" within, so it only needs to work whilst you warm up. To this end I don't splurge on jackets. I've seen that you've been recommended Decathlon and I've certainly not been disappointed by their walking equipment. Currently, I have a £12 Karrimor running jacket in day-glo yellow that has done sterling service for four years so far.

If you want waterproof you’ll pay more

Decathlon has the cheapest one I’ve seen for true waterproof. It’s £54.99

It’s yellow for women’s and the men’s is black 🙂

NOTE. It’s only waterproof if described as such. These have taped seams. Most run jackets are not waterproof! They don’t really need to be for short jogs near home 🙂

My Aldi run jacket is fine and was £6.99. It’s not waterproof though. None of my jackets are Waterproof jackets are required in mountains and fells etc where getting cold and wet could put you in real danger.

I bought one I like last year from Asics outlet during a sale. It's probably the sort of place that always has some kind of sale of last year's stock. It made me laugh as it's called an accelerate jacket and I don't exactly accelerate much in it 😀. Anyway, it was about £40 and it works for me. I think it's 'water resistant'. I have run in light rain and it seems to keep the rain off me. Might be worth looking to see if they have something that suits you:
