Hi everyone, I completed W7R2 yesterday and after 3 runs of 25 minutes it doesn’t seem to be getting any easier, and not only that I am not getting that end of run buzz. Has anyone else experienced the same? Does the buzz return? I am hoping it is just a short lived winter/lockdown blues thing and don’t intend to give up but it’s feeling tougher than it ever has at the moment.

Wk7 and losing the buzz
The longer runs can be tough until you get used to running for those durations.
Firstly make sure you are not running too fast. Slowing down to the recommended easy conversational pace makes it more achievable and for most, more enjoyable.
Slower pace is an epiphany for many.
You may find distraction helpful, so that the last things you think about are time and the physicality of running. If music doesn't do it, try podcasts or audiobooks. I used to give myself a running commentary on everything that I could see, hear, feel and smell as I ran, in full florid sentences.
You are doing great just to have got this far, so hang in there, relax and enjoy it.
Firstly stick with it NewRunner-52 January Yak blame the month, it's always a slump after Christmas! And given everything going on. You'll get that buzz back, try using a different route, it may just freshen it up as well!
Thank you for comments and advice, everyone is so helpful on here, very motivating.
We've all been where you are and that little bit of a nudge or whatever helps it goes a long way 👍
I think your are probably in the trough of the 'learning curve' - no particular reason for it, but you WILL rise up out of it again as you continue through the plan. Strangely, when I completed W9 run 3 and completed the plan I felt absolutely NOTHING!- no buzz, no elation, but I carried on my journey and have been over the moon ever since with each of my longer runs. Hang in there and look forward. 🤾♀️
Hello NewRunner-52! I have had a few runs like this, just sort of felt meh, oh well, I did it. I’m learning that it’s the trade off for the AMAZING runs that really make it all worth while! The buzz returns in spades, and don’t forget how far you’ve come 😀.
Just think how happy you will be doing 5Ks (and maybe more) in March when it is pleasantly warmer. You will be glad you did these yucky January sessions. Thses runs make the good ones all that much sweeter.
Yes, and yes. Hang on to the fact that you're completing the runs. If you're not ready to move on, repeat. Take it slow, and feel as proud as you should be for everything you're doing. You'll get your mojo back. And on thinking you're running slow - well I did my first consolidation run to a podcast with strict Jo pace counting, and it was about the slowest I'd ever run! So, that's why it hurt all those weeks.... 😅
